Our Herd

Our llamas have been bred here in Petersburg for decades. We focus on strong fiber, good conformation, and an easy temperament. The herd includes animals at various stages, from proven adults to young ones just coming into their own. Call us if you want to talk specifics.

Fiber Quality

Llama fiber is naturally soft, strong, and lanolin-free, making it a great choice for spinners and weavers who want something a bit different from wool. Our animals produce a range of natural colors.

Giant Angora Rabbits

Giant angoras are one of the rarer fiber breeds in the Northeast, and we're proud to have a strong group here in Petersburg. They produce an exceptional amount of fine, ultra-warm fiber and are a joy to work with.

The Rabbits

Our giant angoras are a productive, well-handled group. They produce a remarkable amount of fiber for their size, and they are used to being worked with. Stock varies through the year. Call us to see what is available.

Angora Fiber

Giant angora fiber is exceptionally fine and warm. It blends beautifully with wool and other fibers, and spins well on its own for truly special yarn. Our fiber is harvested with care and sorted before sale.

Colored Angora Goats

Our colored angora goats produce lustrous mohair in a range of natural colors. Strong, beautiful fiber with a distinctive sheen that spinners and weavers love.

The Goats

Our colored angora goats are something we are proud of. They produce mohair in a natural range from near-white to deep chocolate and gray. We are particular about what we keep in the herd, and it shows in the fiber.

Mohair

Colored mohair is hard to find and worth seeking out. Natural color ranges from white and silver to deep brown and gray. Strong fiber that takes dye beautifully or looks great left as-is.

Herdsires

Our breeding males come from strong bloodlines with proven fiber and conformation. If you're looking to improve your herd, contact us to talk about availability and stud service.

Others on the farm

It is not just fiber animals here. The farm has always had dogs, cats, horses, and a parrot or two. They do not produce fiber, but they are very much part of the place.
