Professional fiber shearing
We shear llamas and angora animals and have been doing it for a long time. Good shearing takes patience and experience. We do it right, and we take care of the fiber as well as the animal.
Three cuts available depending on what you need: barrel cut for a practical working clip, extended barrel for more fiber yield, and full body for those who want a complete clip. Prices are per animal. Travel is available if you're not able to bring animals to us in Petersburg.
If you're in Rensselaer County or nearby in upstate New York or western New England and you need your animals sheared, give us a call.

We board fiber animals at the farm. Hay, grain, minerals, and fresh water. Open wooded areas with good pasture. Your animals will be well looked after and in good company.
We know these animals. If something looks off, we'll notice and we'll call you. That's what comes with boarding at a farm that actually raises livestock rather than just storing it.

We love having visitors
We do farm tours and public education visits for schools, libraries, nursing homes, and anyone who wants to learn about fiber animals and the craft that comes from them. It's amazing to see the activities taking place on the farm, and we love sharing that.
Not everyone has grown up around animals this way. There's real value in seeing a working farm, learning where fiber comes from, and getting to meet a llama up close. We enjoy doing it, and people always leave with something they didn't know before.
Call or email to schedule a visit. We work with groups of all sizes and all ages.
